Fyvie Lake
Last Monday we took Carina for a walk around the Fyvie Lake. It was a beautiful afternoon. Helena took her bicycle and cycled around. We saw lots of ducks, geese and swans.

Bennachie - the Descent
It was steep going down. Now it didn't seem such a good idea to have the pram with us. Bogi carried it on his back for a good while!!!
A well deserved cup of tea and a chocolate biscuit in the shelter of the rock. Never has it tasted so good.
Lois had no intention of sharing her Tunnock's Caramel Wafer!
Helena did really well. The round trip took us 4 hours and 40 minutes. She walked most of the way.
A great day out!
Bennachie - The Ascent
Last Saturday we took advantage of the fine weather, and the good company of Carina, visiting from Denmark, to ascend Bennachie.
We weren't too sure of the branches in the path so ended up taking the long way up. Helena and Lois had a little rest while Carina and Babba ascended the summit of the Oxen Craig, the second highest peak on Bennachie. The Mither Tap is still a long way off!
On the final ascent of the Mither Tap. Someone had kindly laid in some steps to ease the passage! Helena still going strong after 3 hours of walking!
At last - we reach the summit - 512 metres and a view to make it all worth while. We were literally "blown away" by the experience!
A Spring Walk in Haddo
Helena, Lois and Mammy enjoyed a lovely spring Saturday afternoon in Haddo a couple of weeks ago. We enjoyed feeding the ducks (though they weren't very hungry - we think the rest of the North East had the same idea and got there earlier!). We also enjoyed seeing all the snowdrops and playing on the swings.
Half Term in Norway
We had a super time in Norway in February, staying in the hytte at Sirdal. The hytte was luxurious, the weather great and the company fantastic. Omma and Abbi joined us from Faroe which was lots of fun. Abbi is a pro going down the hill on the sledge, and even better pulling little girls back up the hill in the sledge! Omma was up for the sledging too! We even tried skiing which was great fun, whichever way up we ended. Evenings around a log fire "haein a yaarn" - "joost speecial"
